This "piggy-back" mounted handguard system has a
removable lower handguard which allows the
mounting of an M203 grenade launcher. At this time,
we offer only the Extended Length model which was
specifically developed to fit the M4 carbine or the CQB
(10.3-inch barrel) configured flat top upper receiver
assembly. The CASV-EL was designed and
manufactured solely for the US Navy. After fulfilling the
Navy contracts, we now offer this system to the
Civilian sector.
This CASV chassis is made entirely
of aluminum with exception to the
stainless steel mounting hardware.

Vltor Low-Profile Gas Block is small enough to fit
inside most rail systems. These gas blocks are an
excellent replacement for the archaic fixed sight
tower gas block, which has been the standard
since the early 1960's.
The Vltor Low-Profile Gas Block covers one-inch of
the barrel's surface and is made to the tightest
tolerance. These gas blocks are offered in two
materials, 4140 carbon steel and 17-4PH stainless
steel. The 4140 gas blocks are manganese
phosphate (black finish) to match barrels with
similar finish. The stainless steel gas blocks are
blasted to give a matte gray finish.
All current models are made to fit barrels that
feature a .750 or 3/4-inch gas block mounting
surface. In 2007, Vltor will offer a gas block that will

CASV-ELS Step Level Free-Float Handguard
The CASV-ELS is not an improved CASV-EL, but
more like a variation for a user with special optic
needs. Like all CASV systems, the CASV-ELS relies
on "piggy-back" mounting to the top of a “flat-top” M4
upper receiver. But what makes the CASV-ELS
different is its forward “Stepped” top rail portion. This
forward rail allows the optic (such as most EOTechs)
to be placed at the same plane/height as the weapon’
s back-up iron sights, i.e. “co-witness”. Co-witnessing
allows the end-user to sight-in the optic to the back-up
iron sights or vice-versa. This means less time at the
range, while sighting in the weapon.
